I had some lovely dogs to judge in Finland today and the weather was lovely too (apparently it usually rains at this show). I was judging the dogs, puppies, veterans and Best in Show, my co-judge was Kim Gain (Molkara). My eventual best dog was a lovely blue called Fenbrook Ain't No Other, and I awarded Best in Show to the lovely black and white bitch Kim sent through called Allways Proud Mary. Thank you so much to all the committee and exhibitors for making us feel so welcome and also a huge thank you to everyone on the committee for taking such good care of us during our stay in Finland.

Today we were showing at Crufts. Despite the Vizslas’ being qualified we decided to only show the Cockers this year which made things a little easier rather than running between different halls to show the dogs and risking classes clashing again like last year.

Flying the flag for us in the Vizsla ring though was Pat Evans with Cassom Kalti who won a 4th place in a good post grad class – congratulations Pat and ‘Kai’! It was lovely to meet up with friends from abroad and also Cassom puppy owners.

We had an absolutely fabulous day in the show ring starting with Nick being placed 2nd in a large graduate class. The day was to get even better though when Jude won a good mid limit class and was later awarded the dog Reserve Challenge Certificate! To say I was ecstatic is an understatement. The last time I won a first place at Crufts was in 2001 with Jude and Nick’s granny – SH.CH. Cassom Lois Lane. Thank you to all our friends for your congratulations and a massive thank you to our judge Mrs Sue Pudney (Cascadia) for a wonderful day.

We were also delighted that the amazing ‘Yogi’ won Best in Show, especially as he is the sire of our own Cassom Kiah and Cassom Barega. Congratulations Moray, Kathryn, John and Naomi!
